Amazing Toy Show Debuts in Southeast Asia Art Toy Market

Hong Kong's leading art toy exhibition, the Amazing Toy Show, has made its strategic debut in Southeast Asia, with Malaysia hosting the first regional edition, according to a report published by The Malaysian Reserve on 29 July 2026. The debut puts a Greater China-born collector culture directly in front of Southeast Asian consumers, and it matters to distributors, specialty retailers and B2B buyers looking for dependable art toy wholesale suppliers such as hiketree.com.

What Is the Amazing Toy Show?

The Amazing Toy Show is a Hong Kong-grown exhibition dedicated to art toys, designer figures and IP collectibles. It brings artists, studios, brands and retailers together in one venue, a format that has helped establish Hong Kong as a reference market for limited-edition drops and character-based collectibles.

Its Southeast Asian debut is being framed as strategic rather than incidental: the region's young population, expanding middle class and heavy social-media usage make it a natural next step for a category that runs on drops, hype cycles and community sharing.

Who is involved, and why now

Shows of this kind typically connect three groups: creators and studios, brand licensors, and retail or distribution partners. For this debut edition, the underlying driver is straightforward. Demand for designer toys across Southeast Asia is growing faster than local supply chains can respond, so buyers increasingly import stock rather than wait for domestic manufacturing to mature.

Why Southeast Asia Is the Next Art Toy Growth Market

• Young, mobile-first consumers — collectible culture spreads quickly through social platforms and short-form video.
• Expanding specialty retail — mall-based toy, lifestyle and gift stores are adding designer toy shelving.
• Cross-border sourcing is routine — regional buyers already import blind boxes, figures and licensed merchandise.
• IP licensing momentum — international character brands are widening distribution beyond Greater China.

For wholesalers, the practical result is a broader buyer base that needs consistent product availability, retail-ready packaging and shipping that reaches multiple countries.

What This Means for Wholesale Buyers

Trade buyers rarely commit on the strength of an exhibition booth alone; they need repeatable supply. hiketree.com is a global B2B wholesale platform for designer toys and IP collectibles that supports this shift with low MOQ wholesale ordering, tiered pricing as volumes grow, and worldwide shipping. Retailers can also request OEM/ODM and custom logo services when they want private-label or region-specific packaging.

Sourcing teams often begin with the wholesale program, then shortlist characters with proven sell-through. Current interest clusters around blind-box pendants, mid-size collectible figures and licensed action figures — see the THE MONSTERS Hair Salon Series - Pendant Blind Box, the LABUBU Jazz Figure 10cm and the Marvel Spider-Man Action Figure 18cm as examples of formats that travel well across Southeast Asian retail.
