Why the opening matters to wholesale buyers

Retail visibility drives wholesale demand

When a brand like POP MART opens physical stores in markets such as the US, Europe and Southeast Asia, it educates shoppers about the category. Consumers learn the format — a sealed blind box, a series to complete, a character to chase — and then look for more ways to buy. That shift usually shows up first in specialty toy shops, gift stores, online resellers and vending operators, the buyers that keep wholesale channels busy.

Series-driven buying is predictable

Blind box collecting moves in cycles: a new series launches, collectors chase rare figures, resellers restock, and demand spreads into lower-cost formats. For wholesale buyers, that rhythm makes inventory planning easier around launch windows instead of one-off items.
