Resin 3D printing captures miniatures down to a 0.05 mm layer height, which is fine enough for tabletop gaming, dioramas and display models at any scale.
SLA resin is the standard process for miniatures because it resolves small features that FDM cannot reproduce. Parts are supported during printing, then the supports are removed and the surface is cleaned up.
Any scale is possible: tell us the target final height in centimetres and the model is resized accordingly. Terrain, vehicles, characters and display pieces can all be produced with the same process.
| SLA - Stereolithography | 0.05 - 0.1 mm layer height | accuracy +/-0.1 mm | minimum wall 0.8 mm (recommended >= 1.2 mm) |
|---|---|
| SLS - Selective Laser Sintering | 0.1 - 0.12 mm layer height | accuracy +/-0.3% | minimum wall 1.0 mm |
| MJF - Multi Jet Fusion | 0.08 mm layer height | accuracy +/-0.3 mm | minimum wall 1.0 mm |
| FDM - Fused Deposition Modeling | 0.16 - 0.3 mm layer height | accuracy +/-0.2% | minimum wall 1.2 mm |
| Metal SLM / DMLS | 0.02 - 0.05 mm layer height | accuracy +/-0.1 mm | minimum wall 0.5 - 1.0 mm |
Resin printing resolves details down to a 0.05 mm layer height and features around 0.3 mm, which is what makes it suitable for miniatures, dioramas and display models.
Any scale. Tell us the desired final height in centimetres and the model is scaled to match, with the material estimate adjusting accordingly.
They arrive with supports removed and the surface ground. Priming and painting can be added and are quoted per piece.
Yes. Upload STL, STEP, STP, OBJ, 3MF, GLB or GLTF. Up to 20 files per request and 100 MB per file.
Keep walls above 1.2 mm and never below 0.8 mm. Thin walls are the most common cause of failed or fragile prints.
Yes. Multiple models can be nested in one build, which reduces the cost per piece because print time is shared across the batch.
